Setting the Record Straight
In the current political climate, the headlines are full of sensational material to grab the attention of voters. It is difficult to separate fact from fiction and get a real sense of the truth.
On this page, it's my goal to set the record straight of my opponent’s misstatements and lack of understanding of the Clerk’s position.
I will update any future incorrect information here.

My opponent has raised several campaign issues. Here, I'd like to address them one by one.
As your County Clerk, I consistently work 45-50 hours per week, with the expert help of my Chief Deputy. I oversee five departments with 90+ employees.

The office of Kootenai County Clerk is a full time job.
Experience counts. My opponent has stated that he does not plan to hire a Chief Deputy if elected. This is not only misguided, it is indeed against Idaho Code.
Nothing wakes an organization up more than a fraud incident. Eight years ago, when Dan English served as County Clerk, the County prosecuted a former employee from the Auditor’s office for financial fraud.
My goal as Clerk is to protect you, the taxpayer. By increasing efficiency and accuracy, the Clerk's budget has been on a downward trend with the end result of saving you money!
-The Clerk's budget shows a downward trend of 14.5% decrease since Fiscal Year 2015.
-The overall Clerk's Division budget has decreased over time, even with greater service demand and the Odyssey software implementation mandated by the Idaho State Supreme Court in 2018.
